Diving in and around the Gili’s is popular due to the abundance of marine life and attractive coral formations. 

The Gili Islands provide a choice of incredible dive sites. Home to perfect, idyllic beaches and clear water perfect for visibility. Both snorkelers and scuba divers will find a site to fall in love with. Divers can expect to encounter turtles, sharks, eels and colorful fish.
Through the Lombok straits, between Bali and Lombok flows the Indonesian through flow, a massive volume of water that passes from the pacific to the Indian Ocean. The result is extremely rich marine bio diversity and during certain times of the year large pelagic fish such as manta rays & reef sharks visit the reefs. Many underwater photographer enthusiasts visit the Gili Islands due to its wide variety of coral reefs and macro life.

SHARK POINT

    0–18 meters (Open Water Diver): Home to garden eels, green and hawksbill turtles, fusiliers, and snappers. Blacktip reef sharks occasionally pass by, and small rays can be spotted on the sand.

    18–30 meters (Advanced Open Water Diver): Greater chances of encountering blacktip and whitetip reef sharks, with eagle rays gliding along the seabed. A small wreck at 22–25 meters shelters lionfish, stonefish, and moray eels.

HALIK REEF
